Download large text file splitter

First Problem - Would not split a second file in the same session. Using the GUI I split the first file into kb chunks, with a leftover piece of k. Perfect, and fast. I then selected the second file and did the same split - the progress bar moved, it acted like it was splitting the file, but no files were created.

I tried several times, same result. Checked and re-checked the file selection and directories, nothing. Did a HD search for the new split files - no results. Second Problem - In a new session it pretended to split the second file , but actually re-split the first file but used the second file naming convention. Details - I closed and re-opened the GUI and this time it created the file splits from the second file, appropriately naming the files.

But the remainder file was the exact same size as the remainder from file one, which should have been different because the original files were different lengths by k. After doing a file compare, it turns out that File Splitter duplicated the splits from file one when creating the file two splits.

It does what it says; also with 64GB files. Great utility. Thank you! I do have 1 little bug fix below. VLC Media Player. MacX YouTube Downloader. Microsoft Office YTD Video Downloader. I always like examples though Example: You can see in this image that the files generated by split are named xaa , xab , xac , etc. Another Example: This example demonstrates using a filename prefix of MySlice instead of the default x , the -d flag for using numerical suffixes instead of aa , ab , ac , etc Improve this answer.
